What do the books "Graffiti Brazil" and "Mexican Calendar Girls" have in common?

Both are in our new display on Popular Culture in Latin America! Come in and see the beautiful display put together by our librarian intern, Lora Smallman. You'll find Graffiti Brazil and Mexican Calendar Girls, plus titles like these:

  • Sugarball: the American Game, the Dominican Dream
  • Refried Elvis: the Rise of the Mexican Counterculture
  • Latin Beat: The Rhythms and Roots of Latin Music from Bossa Nova to Salsa and Beyond

  • ...and more!
These books and DVDs were purchased through a grant awarded by CARLI, the Constortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois, and are now available for check-out. To see a complete list of items added to our library, click here for a pdf file.
