Parkland Library 101

Read on to get the 411 on what Parkland Library has to offer:


Laptops! - checkout a laptop for in-library-use ONLY for up to 3 hours. read details here.

Wi-Fi - bring your laptop to access the free wi-fi throughout the library. log in with your student email info.

Printing - 10 cents per page (black & white) / 50 cents per page (color). can pay with cash OR add cash to your Parkland ID.

Copies - 10 cents per page (black & white) / 50 cents per page (color)

Scanning - FREE, but you must have a flash drive with you

Fax - only fax service on campus for students! read this for more info.

Headphones - buy a set for $1.00 OR check out some for free at the Service Desk

New ID cards needed for all library services

Whether you're on or off campus, it's official. EVERYONE (faculty, staff, students) needs their new ID for library services.

ON CAMPUS? Get your new ID card in Student Life, Room X-161

ID Center Hours are 8am-5pm Monday – Thursday, as well as 5pm – 7pm on Tuesday


OFF CAMPUS? If you need your ID number to renew library materials or for other purposes, go to Web Advisor, part of my.parkland

  1. Click here https://my.parkland.edu/staff/Pages/WebAdvisor.aspx
  2. Login.
  3. Click “Academic Profile.”
  4. Click “My Profile.” Your ID number is right below your name.
Don’t forget to get your new ID card when you are on campus.

I-Share Checkout Period Change

Checkout periods and renewals through the *I-Share catalog are changing. Beginning August 4th, the new policy gives the following rules:

Initial loan period: 28 days
Renewal loan period: 28 days
Number of times item may be renewed: 3

These new rules only apply to material requested through the I-Share catalog. Rules for items checked out from the Parkland Library remain the same.

*What is I-Share? It is the online catalog of 76 college/university libraries in Illinois. If an item is unavailable at Parkland, it may be requested through an I-Share library using the I-Share catalog. For more information, click here to read a full description of I-Share.
