Resources on LGBTQ Bullying

Speaking OUT is a list of resources about bullying. There are links to resources for kids in trouble and the people who care about them. This linked page lists suggestions from members of the GLBT Round Table (GLBTRT) of the American Library Association (ALA) in response to the recent suicides of teased and bullied LGBTQ teens in the U.S. The list will be updated as more suggestions are received. Have suggestions? Send them to us at glbtrt@gmail.com

Want to see what Parkland Library has to offer? Come see us at the information desk! We also have a display of books for LGBT History Month up now.

Don't leave your belongings unattended in the library

Unattended laptops, cell phones, iPods, calculators, text books, and wallets (whether in or out of a bag/backpack) attract thieves. Please do not step away from your valuables, even for short trips to the copier, printer, or restroom. Instead, pack up and take your belongings with you or have a friend watch them while you're gone.

Note: Thanks to Lafayette College Library for this wording. Thievery is not limited to one college or one place. Be alert in public places.
