Steppin’ into "The Silent Zone"

The 3rd floor of the library is now The Silent Zone. Take advantage of this area to study in silence, read a book, or head up there just to chill.

In honor of this renaming, we offer you a few “Rules of the Road.”

Do’s: mime, headphones (only YOU should be able to hear the music), cell phones on vibrate/silence, enjoy the silence…

Don’ts: cell phone rings or conversations (take the call to the 2nd floor or outside the library), talking, whispering, music anyone else can hear, whistling, singing, and, last but not least…snoring.

Report noise by using the campus phone next to the restrooms on the 3rd floor. A library staff member will respond as soon as possible.

  1. Funny that librarians have a bad rep as shushers but that's what students are asking for. Good luck with the blog and this silent floor effort!

P.S. Are you going to be twittering, too?
