3D Printing Now Available in the Library

Welcome to the future!  The Library has 3D printing capabilities which are now open to the community!  With help from Health Professions and Computer Science and Information Technology, the Library acquired a Makerbot Replicator 2 3D printer and Makerbot Digitizer 3D Scanner earlier this year.

Library staff and instructor Derek Dallas have been working to get 3D printing up and ready to go for students, faculty, staff, and community members.  There are a few simple rules which can be found here in the 3D printing policy.  There is a nominal fee for this service: $2.00 to use the equipment, and $0.10 per gram for anything printed.

Jane Smith printed a braille periodic table for the Natural Sciences department.
Users will need a Parkland ID, which can be obtained through the office of Student Life in U-111.  Once you have that, you can make an appointment to use the printer at the Service Desk.

What will you print?
