The library faculty and staff bid a fond farewell to the beloved refrigerator. The fridge made its debut back in the summer of 1978. The staff were thrilled to get it then and are sad to see it go now. As you can tell from the photo, it was not a new refrigerator at the time. Date of manufacture is unknown. Sometime in the 50's is the best guess.
The fond memories of defrosting layer upon layer of ice will remain. Goodbye, dear fridge. It is time to let you go.
We will miss your energy (in)efficient ways.
ReplyDeleteIs this the Library's first foray into "greening the campus"?
ReplyDeleteSung to the tune of Oh Christmans Tree (Oh Tannenbaum):
ReplyDeleteO dear fridge, O dear fridge
We're truly going to miss you!
O dear fridge, O dear fridge
You're like one of the family!
You came to us so clean and bright,
Your shiny paint a true delight.
O dear fridge, O lovely fridge,
We're truely going to miss you.
O dear fridge, O lovely fridge
You're older than a bunch of us!
Never mind the electric bill,
In '78 you were a thrill!
And now we say a sad goodbye
As you leave us forever.
Oh dear fridge, O lovely fridge,
We truely going to miss you!
