Let's hear from the students...

As we start week five of classes, we'd like to get some feedback from the students. We recently learned that the reason a student hadn't used Parkland's library before was because it was "intimidating."

Have any of you felt the same way? Or is there another reason for not using the Parkland Library?

  2. just fyi.. .there is an elevator in the college center you can take to the 2nd floor, then go into that entrance of the library. And there's an elevator in the library that goes up to the 3rd floor. It's small and slow, though...

  5. Have you ever thought of having textbook rentals. the cost of textbooks is way too high for most students.

  6. Textbooks are terribly expensive, but rental would have to be a campus decision, not a library one. And it would likely increase the cost of tuition or other fees to offset the costs, so you'd be paying one way or another. However, the Library does offer RESERVES. Instructors can place copies of texts and other materials on Reserve for in-library use or very short-term checkouts. You can make photocopies of the pages you need. It's the best alternative we can offer at the moment. If your texts aren't on Reserve, urge your instructor to consider placing copies there. ~ from the Info Services folks...
