Roses are red, violets are blue...

I'm really no poet, how about you? April is National Poetry Month and the library has put together a display on poetry. Check out the anthologies of American Poets, grab a book on how to read a poem, or learn how to get published if you already write poetry. The books are waiting for you to take them home. Check out the display at the entrance to the Parkland Library!

  1. Roses are red
    Spring is here
    I'd rather be playing
    Or having a beer

  2. Roses are red
    My eyes are too
    I'm sick of allergies
    But what can I do?

  3. Noses are red.
    Throats are sore.
    Spring in this state
    Is worse than a bore.

  5. Sneezing out loud
    Is far from morose.
    Where are the Kleenex
    My sleeve is gross.

  6. Today's sky is grey
    The ground is wet,
    Plants not in ground
    Oh how I fret.

    Just a few days
    Of warm sunshine
    Is all that we need
    For gardeners not to whine.
